The Hemibrain: Network Community Structure and Anatomy

A comparison between community structure and anatomy. Brain regions identified by anatomists partition the Hemibrain into disjoint volumes, listed on the y axis. Names are those assigned in the Hamibrain data set, with L/R specifying left and right, respectively. Box height is the fraction of the volume on the y-axis contained in the cluster on the x-axis. The heights in each row sum to 1. The width of a box corresponds to the fraction of neurons in the cluster with synapses in the brain region given on the y axis. Individual neurons may have synapses in many brain regions, so the widths in one column may sum to more than 1.
